ERGObaby is a family owned and
operated company located on Maui, Hawaii. Since 2003, ERGObaby
have been providing parents with the most thoughtful, highest
quality, and most innovative babywearing products and accessories
found on the market. It is ERGObaby's mission to educate parents
about attachment parenting, babywearing, and related topics, to
improve the way our next generations of babies are introduced into
the world. ERGObaby are committed to excellent customer service,
including immediate order response and friendly support of product
use.
The ERGO Baby Carrier was initially
developed out of a personal need when Karin Frost, had her son in
2001 and created a carrier for him. With help and feedback from
other parents, the ERGObaby design was born. Word of mouth has
expanded this single carrier design into a globally recognized
family of baby carriers and accessories.
More and more parents want to be
physically active and productive during the early stages of their
child's growth. Wearing their baby supports this need. Research on
babywearing has also observed great benefits to the child. The
ERGObaby carrier holds the baby safely and closely to the parent's
body, and provides the parent with the desired mobility. It also
builds parent's awareness of their child’s needs.
The ERGO Baby Carrier is pleased to
announce association with Dr. Susan Markel, a Board Certified
Pediatrician who is skilled in all aspects of general pediatric
care. She has been honored by becoming a Medical Advisor at
Attachment Parenting International, a non-profit parenting
organization that promotes "Peaceful Parenting for a Peaceful
World".
ERGObaby has been committed to the
Attachment Parenting model since president and designer, Karin A.
Frost, created the first ERGObaby carrier when she had her son,
Keala Kaj. He has been carried since birth to almost five years.
While she was pregnant she read the “Continuum Concept” by Jean
Leidloff (published in 1975) and was so inspired that she joined a
group of parents who met on a regular basis to discuss, learn and
understand more about the concept.
Karin sewed the first 50 baby
carriers on her own machine until the demand motivated having it
manufactured and sold on her website. The company is now worldwide
and the success has prompted us to focus on education. Her mission
has always been to help make the parenting process easier, more
fun and most of all to usher each new generation of babies into
our world with the best support possible.
This mission aligns with Dr. Markel’s
dedication to helping parents and children empower themselves to
have a healthier and happier lifestyle.
