Compare Ergo Baby Carriers to Baby Bjorn

The Ergobaby carrier and the Baby Bjorn carrier are both excellent child carriers.  But there are some differences between the two carriers.  To make it easier to understand the differences between the two, enclosed are separate evaluations of the two carriers.

The Ergobaby carrier allows the child to be carried on the parent’s front, back or side.  However, unlike the BabyBjorn, when the child is in the forward facing position, the child must face the parent.  The child cannot face outward.  There are many different types of Ergobaby carriers.  These include:  Basic, Sport and Organic.  All of the Ergobaby carriers are exactly the same except for the color, style and price.  For example, the non-organic model is the least expensive, followed by the non-organic with stars, followed by the standard organic, followed by the organic with a pattern on the pouch.  The Sport is a little bit different.  The Sport has longer shoulder straps and a larger belt to parents who are larger or taller.  However, you can purchase an extension belt for the regular carriers if needed.  Also, the Sport has a removable hood and the Sport only comes in black or blue.  The Ergobaby carriers will also hold a child up to 40-45 pounds (depending on the model).  The Ergobaby carriers can hold a child from birth but any child under 6 months of age, it is recommended that you purchase an infant insert.  The Ergobaby product line also includes matching accessories, such as:  a front pouch, a backpack, infant inserts, and sucking pads.  The Baby Bjorn carrier comes in many different styles.  But the basic style of all of the carriers is that it is a front carrier only.  However, the carrier allows the parents to have the child face them or for the child to face out and see the world.  There are many different types of Baby Bjorn carriers.  These include:  Original, Air, Active, Synergy and the new Comfort carrier.  The Original model is a very basic baby-carrying model that most people are familiar with.  The Air model looks like the Original model but the fabric is more of a mesh fabric that dissipates heat and moisture.  The Active model has the same fabric as the Original but has more back support and the Synergy model has the same fabric as the Air with the same back support at the Active.  The new Comfort Carrier is unique because it is very easy to put carrier on the parent’s body.  All of the carriers can hold a child to about 26 pounds.  It is also possible to get the Original, Active, and Comfort carriers in an organic fabric.  The Baby Bjorn carriers can hold a child from birth without the need of any additional accessories.
